EU at the UN

The EU's commitment to effective multilateralism, with the UN at its core, is a central element of its external action. As a UN observer with enhanced status, the EU delegation coordinates with its 28 Member States to speak with one voice. The EU also works closely with the UN secretariat and its agencies, funds & programmes, partnering on a range of global issues and challenges.

Summary: 3 June 2015, Brussels – In the context of the E3/EU+3’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to seek a comprehensive solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, talks will continue this week in Vienna.

E3+3 Political Directors, chaired by EU Political Director Helga Schmid, are meeting today to prepare for a new round of nuclear talks with their Iranian counterparts.

E3/EU+3 meetings with Iranian Deputy Foreign Ministers Abbas Araghchi and Madjid Takht Ravanchi are scheduled to resume tomorrow, 4 June in Vienna.

The meetings  at Political directors level will be complemented by parallel work of E3/EU+3 and Iranian technical experts.
