The European Union reiterates its continued support to all mediation efforts by the President of Costa Rica, Oscar Arias, and the OAS, and calls upon the actors involved to consider the San José Accord in a constructive manner, at this crucial stage of the negotiations.
The EU urges the actors involved in the mediation to continue peaceful negotiations to restore democracy and constitutional order in Honduras.
The Candidate Countries Turkey, Croatia* and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, the Countries of the Stabilisation and Association Process and potential candidates Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as the Republic of Moldova, Armenia and Georgia align themselves with this declaration.
* Croatia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia continue to be part of the Stabilisation and Association Process.
